Bureau for Children With Medical Handicaps

The Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH) is a program whose mission is to serve children with special health needs and their families by providing coordinated systems for family-centered, community based, comprehensive care and services.  Public health nurses from the JCHD serve as local service coordinators, providing home visits, local case management, and identification of children with potentially handicapping conditions through referral to the diagnostic program. The diagnostic program is available to any child in Ohio regardless of family income or insurance status.
