Mission Statement
The purpose of the Jefferson County Health Department
is to help an individual or group achieve a more
satisfying life and to improve the quality of
life for the residents of the Jefferson County
General Health District.
Policy:
The Jefferson County Health Department is here
to provide services and programs in order to achieve
the stated purpose. Those services and programs
will be based on a number of principles and assumptions
including, but not limited to:
- The Department shall carry out programs mandated
by the State Legislature and Ohio Department
of Health.
- All citizens of the Jefferson County General
Health District should be free of any environmental
conditions that lower the quality of life. To
this end the Board shall adopt and enforce environmental
rules and regulations.
- All citizens of the Jefferson County General
Health District should be free of communicable
diseases. To this end the Board shall create
a public health nursing division.
- Citizens of the Jefferson County General
Health District should not be barred from receiving
medical and dental care due to race, creed,
color or socioeconomic levels. To this end the
Board may provide services if economically feasible.
Responsibility:
The Jefferson County
Board of Health and the Jefferson County Health
Department.
